- Abingdon Fire Company Volunteers are 100% volunteer. They will leave their family event, holiday gathering, or the neighborhood cook-out, to respond to the station and respond on a dispatched emergency call for service without even getting paid. These volunteers depend on the public's donations to help advance their training, and to utilize top of line life and property saving equipment, technology and apparatus.
