- Each year, Abingdon Fire Company responds to over 7,000 total calls.
- Between two stations, Abingdon Fire Company operates 4 Engines, A Rescue Truck, A Ladder Truck, a Brush Truck, 3 Utility Vehicles, a Boat, and 4 Ambulances with a
- Abingdon Fire Company has over 100 members that have either Fire and/or EMS Training.
- It costs over $4,000 to stock our ambulances with medications, plus the cost to replace medications after each call.
- Abingdon serves over 24,000 housing units with an estimated population of over 58,000 people. This does not include visitors and employees who live outside of Abingdon's response area, yet visit and use our services daily.
- Abingdon Fire Company Volunteers are 100% volunteer. They will leave their family event, holiday gathering, or the neighborhood cook-out, to respond to the station and respond on a dispatched emergency call for service without even getting paid. These volunteers depend on the public's donations to help advance their training, and to utilize top of line life and property saving equipment, technology and apparatus.
